Travel Awards to Non-NAVBO Meetings

Trainees are invited to apply for travel awards to attend scientific meetings of their choice. Events should NOT be sponsored by NAVBO.

NAVBO will fund NAVBO trainee members to attend small conferences of the member's choice, rather than NAVBO restricting it to certain conferences.

Preliminary criteria:

Funds will only go towards attendance at a regional or small conference (200 participants or less), not national conferences.*
Applicant must have submitted an abstract to the eligible meeting.
Applicant and the applicant’s PI must be current NAVBO members in good standing.

*Eligible conferences will be at the discretion of NAVBO. Examples include Gordon Research Conferences, regional society meetings, and local conferences. If you have questions about what qualifies, please reach out to info@navbo.org.

Please note: these funds will be given on a reimbursement basis. Receipts will be required after the meeting to receive the funds.

Please have all documents ready to upload (CV, abstract, letter from PI) prior to initiating the application. You cannot save and return; you must complete the application at one time.

There will be two rounds per year:
Deadlines are April 30 at 11:59pmET and October 31 at 11:59pmET

Notifications of awards will be sent within 30 days of the above deadlines.
