ABSTRACT
In this talk we will explore the application of Multiplexed Error-Robust Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (MERFISH) technology to decode spatially regulated disease drivers in human heart and kidney diseases. MERFISH enables high-resolution, multiplexed gene expression profiling at the single-cell level, allowing for the identification of disease-related molecular signatures and their spatial distribution within tissue samples. By applying MERFISH to heart and kidney tissues from individuals with these diseases, we gain insights into the spatial heterogeneity of gene expression patterns, uncovering potential key players in disease progression. This spatially resolved analysis sheds light on the intricate cellular interactions and regulatory networks that underlie heart and kidney diseases, offering a promising avenue for the development of targeted therapies and precision medicine approaches.
