Webinar Featuring Dr. Liya Yin
Thursday, December 5, 2024 (1:00 PM - 2:00 PM) (EST)
Description
Please join us as Liya Yin, MD, Ph.D. FAHA, FCVS, Professor, University of Arizona College of Medicine, presents her talk titled "Regulation of Coronary Microcirculation in Cardiovascular Diseases. ” Abstract : Coronary circulation is essential to normal cardiac function. The deficiency of coronary blood flow leads to ischemic heart disease, the primary cause of mortality in the US. Many efforts have been invested in tissue repair and regeneration after myocardial ischemia and infarction, but how to prevent ischemia injury by coronary circulation is still challenging. On the other hand, ischemia without obstructive coronary artery disease (INOCA) is poorly aware, and the underlying mechanism is unclear. This webinar will provide some insights into coronary collateral growth, a natural bypass for ischemic heart diseases/coronary artery diseases, and coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD), a prevalent factor in INOCA and diabetic cardiomyopathy and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).
